We are looking for a Business Development Executive to assist with the sales pipe line across all commerical channels. You will come from a technology solutions provider, have a real passion of providing customers with world class cutting edge technology solutions. The Business Development Executive works as part of the sales team to improve the company’s market position and achieve financial growth. You will work toward defined short-term and long-term organisational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate, and close business deals, and maintain a high level of knowledge of current market conditions. You will work within the sales team, working closely with marketing staff and engineering teams to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximise revenue for our company. To achieve this, with a steer from the Sales Director and Regional Sales Managers, you need to identify potential new logos, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients with the support of your peers and continue to grow business in the future.

Although the role is focused to prospecting new logos, an element of the role may require approaching existing client accounts and ensure they stay up to date on new company services. You will call on clients, often being required to present solutions and services that meet or predict their client’s future needs.

Experience Required

  • A proven track record in strong presentation skills is essential in the role of a Business Developer.

  • Business Developers need a good track record of business-to-business sales at a corporate level.

  • A Business Developer will need to have strong research and strategic analysis skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that sales targets, set by the management team, are met with the ambition to exceed.

  • Research, become knowledge expert in your focused industry.

  • Create knowledge hub of focused industry.

  • Profile target market.

  • Prospect for potential new logos that will then lead into increased business.

  • Contacting new logos, as appropriate, within your market or geographic area to establish rapport to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.

  • Identify potential new logos, and the decision makers within the client’s organisation.

  • Set up meetings between client’ decision makers and our company’s practice leaders/Principals (the presentation could be carried out by the management team if required).

  • Plan approaches and pitches; work with a team to develop proposals that speaks to the needs, concerns, and objectives of the client.

  • Participate in pricing the solution/service which includes the creation of quotations and proposal documents.

  • Handle objections by clarifying / emphasising agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion (using a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately).

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.

  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet client needs.

  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.

  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends, with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.

  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop our company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within our company’s CRM or other sales management system.

  • Forecast personal sales targets and ensure they are kept up-to-date.

  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.

  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
